Marcel Duchamp – In the manner of Delvaux (1942)

This is not a very thoughtful posting, but more an emotional squeak 🙂 I just found this work by Duchamp, and am simply amazed; again and again, he was the most brilliant artists of the last century, original and deep.

It was only him who was able – already in 1942! to detect and to ridicule, in one stroke, all this pompous and pretentious emptiness of Delvaux. Mirrors as a way to express the hollowness of the latter’s pseudo-art.

Have to think about the icon for that case 🙂
